Common use of Part-Time Contracts Clause in Contracts

Part-Time Contracts. The Employer may, where a need exists, elect to offer a part-time contract position. This part-time contract position will be to replace a current part-time employee who is on an extended leave that is in excess of three (3) months. The contract does not offer any guarantee of hours or of set shifts. A part-time contract position can be extended if the leave that created the need for the contract is extended. No contract extension can be for a longer term than that of the original contract, except as agreed by mutual consent between the Union and the Employer. Human Resources will notify the Chairperson of the extension of a contract and who the leave applies to.
