Common use of Overtime Breaks Clause in Contracts

Overtime Breaks. If an employee is expected to work more than one-half (1/2) hour beyond the end of the shift a paid fifteen (15) minute rest period shall be provided. In addition, if the employee works overtime such that the employee is working more than five (5) hours since the meal period referred to in (a) above, then a further fifteen (15) minute paid rest break shall be provided; and the Company will either provide a meal, or pay the employee a seven dollar ($7.00) meal allowance, which shall be added to their gross earnings for that week.
