Common use of Overtime Availability Clause in Contracts

Overtime Availability. When a shift becomes vacant (such as following a request for time off) and is offered to unit members as overtime, a notification will be sent out to those employees (based on schedule) who may volunteer to cover the vacant shift. Volunteers shall be considered in the order in which they communicate availability. In the event that more than one volunteer responds within 12 hours of notification, the assignment shall be based on seniority.
