Opening Statements Clause Samples

The Opening Statements clause serves to introduce the contract by identifying the parties involved and outlining the general purpose or context of the agreement. Typically, this section specifies the legal names of the parties, their roles, and the date of the agreement, setting the stage for the detailed terms that follow. Its core practical function is to ensure clarity about who is entering into the contract and the basic intent behind the agreement, thereby reducing ambiguity and potential disputes over the parties' identities or the contract's scope.
