OFF AND RECALL. If a reduction of staff or lay-off becomes necessary, employees will be laid off in the following order: (a) outside the scope of this bargaining unit work Employees on probation Employees in reverse order of their seniority, providing the employees retained are able to perform the work available a manner without training. In the event of a layoff of greater than three consecutive work days or hours of scheduled work duration, affected employees will be assigned to other available jobs in the following order of priority: a) Openings or positions occupied by less senior on other shifts within the department, within their classification. In this instance, plant seniority the department will be the governing factor. In the event no positions exist within the department employees will be assigned to available jobs in other departments, wherever plant seniority permits, provided they are able to perform the available job competently, without the need for training. In the event of a layoff of three consecutive work days, or hours of scheduled work or less the Company will reduce the work force on the shift affected by seniority. For layoffs of less than one day, the will lay off by seniority on shift affected within the affected departments. In the case of plant fogging the Company is responsible to advise those employees that are regularly scheduled to work during that period with a minimum notice of ten (10) calendar days before the fogging is to commence. Employees may be allowed the opportunity to work overtime, if available, to cover lost time. If fogging is required in an emergency situation or at the directive of an outside entity no notice will be required and the opportunity to up lost time will be at the company’s discretion, Except in an all employees (excluding on probation and students) in accordance with Article shall receive notice when the weekly schedules are posted, when possible on Thursday.
