Number of PSAPs receiving the eCall messages after the Europe-wide eCall (2014) system is launched: In the frame of HeERO2 project Traffic General Directorate (DGT) will host an intermediate PSAP in the Traffic Management Centre which will filter the calls and redirect the call to the most appropriate 112 PSAP. If this architecture is adopted, 19 centres depending on the regional governments of the Autonomous Communities and Autonomous Cities which are responsible for the answering of the 112 emergency calls, will receive the eCall information from the intermediate PSAP. Note: DGT Manages the traffic information telephone 011 and roadside assistance. Responsible in determining the basic technical standards in terms of traffic and road safety. Competent in the regulation, management, and traffic control on interurban roads and urban crossings. Competent in the development and operation of the Register of Traffic Accident Victim. The traffic police functionally depend on the General Directorate in surveillance, regulating and controlling traffic and road safety and for the protection and roadside assistance. The DGT is the owner of the vehicle database.
