NOTICE TO BE GIVEN BEFORE WORK IS COVERED UP. The contractor shall give not less than 5 days notice in writing to the Engineer or his authorized agent before covering up or otherwise placing beyond the reach of measurement, any work in order that the same may be measured and correct dimensions thereof be taken before the same is so covered up or placed beyond the reach any work without the consent in writing of the Engineer. If any work shall be covered up or placed beyond the reach of measurement without such notice having been given or consent obtained, the same shall be uncovered at the contractor’s expenses, or in default thereof no payment or allowance shall be made for such work or the materials, with which the same was executed.
