Non-Trades. To implement the provisions of Paragraphs (63) (a) (1) and (63) (a) (2) of the National Agreement, the procedure below will be followed for employees in non-trades classifications:

Non-Trades. The following classifications of Water Industry Workers (WIW) provides an overview of the work requirements: WIW Trainee A Trainee is employed under the National Water Industry Training package 2001 for a nominal period of twelve (12) months. This is subject to performance and probation of three (3) months. W1W 1 A WIW 1 is the entry level for new starters (excluding Trainees) The nominal period prior to re-classification is twelve (12) months. The position requires employees to work in all areas of the operations as required. A W1W 1 will require supervision and support, including mentoring. The following are pre- requisites to employment: * holder of a current Driver's Licence; * standby and overtime availability * employees will not place restrictions on their personal development in terms of progressing through the classification structure; and A WIW 1 will not be entitled to a cross-skilling rate. A WIW 2 is an employee capable of working without direct supervision. A WIW 2 is a self managed employee with the following skills and attributes: o Present themselves to work on time, in a fit state and in accordance with Swan Water Services / Water Corp dress requirements o Provide full day of productivity [a fair days work] o Be responsible for any vehicles ,plant and equipment in their charge.[to make sure plant and vehicles are fuelled and in good working order for the next person] o Display a positive attitude in their approach to work o Work as part of a team o Follow instructions to ensure compliance with statutory and operational procedural requirements o Carry out on site JSEAs and risk assessments and to be aware of other OHS requirements [communicating to relevant persons of any unsafe plant, equipment ,environmental impacts ,to ensure their own safety at work, avoid affecting the health and safety of other persons, co-operate with their employer in ensuring that their work place remains safe at all times. o Communicate problems if unable to resolve o Meet appointment times [be reliable] o Deal with issues on the spot if able. o Use initiative o Respect others o Assist after hours, and complete commenced work after hours if required. o Use tools and equipment in accordance to their specification and intended application o Not to waste materials that can be reused o Not to waste time [hanging around store yards in mornings or afternoons ] o Carry out basic functions with minimal supervision o Avoid abandoning problems without having a go o Analyse...
