New Assignment. A teacher who has been given a different assignment during the school year may be given release time for a period of orientation at the discretion of the Superintendent. A teacher entering the system during the school year or one who has been given a different assignment during the school year may be paid for a period of orientation when it has been authorized by the Superintendent.
New Assignment. A new assignment shall be defined as the first year working under a different educator’s license or in a new building or grade level.

Normal supervisory responsibilities of department, building and district administrators will also cause administrators to drop in on classes and other activities in the worksite at various times as deemed necessary by the administrator. Carrying out these supervisory responsibilities, when they do not result in targeted and constructive feedback to the Educator, are not observations as defined in this Article.
New Assignment. Unit members who are transferred during the school year will be given as much notice as possible. Unit members who are transferred during the school year will be allowed no more than five (5) days or no more than twenty (20) paid hours of preparation time prior to the effective date of the transfer. Unit members involuntarily transferred at the end of the school year will be allowed no more than twenty (20) hours of paid time to move materials. The District will provide assistance in moving the unit member's materials to the new work location.

New Assignment. (i) This program is designed to augment or enhance an instructor’s knowledge and understanding in order to undertake a new assignment, teach a new course, or maintain currency in a current assignment.
New Assignment. An educator with PTS shall be considered in a new assignment when teaching for more than twenty percent (20%) of his/her assignment under a different license that he/she has not previously taught under within the last five years.
New Assignment. An educator with PTS shall be considered in a new assignment when teaching under a different license, or in a different subject area, grade-level, or school. The parties acknowledge that it may take some time for an educator with PTS to become proficient in a new assignment (e.g., a change in subject area, grade level, or school). Therefore, the Primary Evaluator may assign a Developing Plan to a PTS educator in a new assignment at the educator’s request or at the Primary Evaluator’s discretion. Each Developing Plan for PTS educators in new assignments will be for one school year. If the educator receives an overall rating of proficient or higher upon the Summative Evaluation at the end of the school year, the educator may begin a Self- Directed Growth Plan for the next school year. If the overall summative rating is below proficient, the Primary Evaluator and Educator may discuss the possibility of a more appropriate assignment, and a different assignment that matches the educator’s certification may be offered. The Primary Evaluator shall place the educator on a plan appropriate to such educator’s rating on his/her Summative Evaluation.
