NEGOTIATING. The Union will appoint or otherwise select Stewards. The Union will inform the Company of the names of the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and other Stewards immediately upon their appoint- ment or selection. (A) The Union acknowledges that Stewards, members of com- mittees and Union officers have regular duties to perform on behalf of the Company, and that such persons will not leave their regular duties with- out obtaining the permission of their ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or immediate supervisor, who will grant such leave as soon as convenient, and when resuming their regular duties, they will report to their ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ supervisor. It is clearly understood that Stewards and other Union officers will not absent themselves from their regular duties unreasonably in order to deal with the grievances of employees and that in accordance with this understanding, the Company will compensate such employees for all time spent during their normal shift hours on such work. Payment will be at base rate plus shift premium where applicable except that for employees working on incentive, payment will be at base rate x plus shift premium where applicable.
