Common use of Monitoring and Alerting Clause in Contracts

Monitoring and Alerting. The Service Provider shall proactively monitor key aspects of the Application that could lead to an unavailability or degradation in the service. The Service Provider shall ensure, where practical, that both warning and critical thresholds are set. The Service Provider shall respond promptly to alerts when metrics exceed these thresholds, taking any action that it safely can without impact on cost or contravening agreed change control procedures. Where the necessary action to resolve or prevent impact on service has a cost implication to the Customer, or requires Customer involvement in a change control procedure, then the Service Provider shall communicate as such to the Customer.
