Midyear Retirements and Temporary Contracts. In the event that a District classified employee retires and begins receiving benefits from the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) prior to the end of the school year, to minimize the disruption for students, they may be retained by the District in their current position until the end of the school year subject to the provisions of ORS 238.082. All requests for continued employment must be submitted in writing to the Superintendent no later than sixty (60) calendar days before retirement. Request will be considered based on the criteria outlined in policy GDPB/GDPB-AR.
