Common use of Lodge Security Clause in Contracts

Lodge Security. All eligible employees covered by this Memorandum of Understanding (a) who are employed after July 1, 1984 and elect not to join or remain members of the Lodge or (b) who were employed prior to July 1, 1984 and had previously executed membership or dues authorization cards as members of said Xxxxx, but hereinafter elect to terminate such membership and/or revoke said dues authorization cards, shall, as a condition of continued employment, pay a service fee to the Lodge in an amount not to exceed the then current Lodge dues in order to defray the costs incurred by the Lodge in the negotiation, administration and implementation of the terms of the Memorandum, and all modifications and amendments thereto, including related proceedings before an impasse panel or arbitrators, in the processing of grievances, and in any and all other proceedings and matters for which the Lodge is the employees' exclusive representative as a result of its certification.
