Levels of Grievance Procedure. a. Level One: Informal Discussion: Within 30 (thirty) days of the time the grievant first had knowledge or reasonably should have had knowledge of the action upon which the grievance is filed, they will discuss the grievance with the immediate supervisor, with the objective of resolving the matter informally. If the grievance involving the interpretation or application of this Agreement is filed by the Association on behalf of a group of employees who work in different locations or the grievance is related to the interpretation or application at a level that does not involve a direct supervisor, the Association may have the informal discussion with a Human Resources (HR) representative. The grievant or the Association will let the immediate supervisor or HR representative know prior to the meeting that the purpose of the meeting is to discuss an informal grievance.
