Leave - ONA Provincial President. A nurse elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses’ Association shall receive a leave of absence for the term of the position. A Upon application in writing by the Association on behalf of the nurse elected to the office of Provincial President of the Ontario Nurses’ Association Association, the Employer shall receive grant such nurse a leave of absence without pay for the term a period of the position. This term can be extended up to a second term. The nurse shall continue to accrue seniority and service during her absencetwo (2) consecutive years. During such leave of absence, the nurse’s salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Association agrees to reimburse the Employer in the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the nurse shall be deemed to be an employee of the Ontario Nurses’ Association. The nurse agrees to notify the Employer of her intention to return to work at least fourtwo (2) weeks prior to the date of return.
