Lateral Transfer. Employees may request to be transferred to a vacant position in another job classification at the same MCSC Grade level provided they meet the minimum qualifications for the position.
Lateral Transfer. A lateral transfer shall be defined as the movement of an employee from a permanent position to another permanent position in a different department or division within the bargaining unit and within the same salary range.
Lateral Transfer. When an employee serving in a class in which the vacancy exists applied in a timely fashion for transfer to the position, he/she shall be granted the transfer. When two or more employees serving in the class in which the vacancy exists apply for transfer to the position, transfer will be based on comparative evaluations, job related knowledge, skills, abilities and experience. In the event of two or more applicants with equal qualifications; seniority shall be the deciding factor. The sole exception to this provision shall be the initial authority of the Transportation Supervisor to object in writing to the requested transfer of a bus driver when, in his/her opinion, such transfer would create a potentially unsafe situation. The effected employees’ avenue of appeal to the supervisor’s objection is through the grievance procedure provided in this agreement.
Lateral Transfer. If an employee moves to a classification with the same pay scale as their current classification the employee shall be placed at the step of the new classification that corresponds with the step they occupied in their previous classification. The employee shall retain all hours previously credited toward their next longevity increase and shall move to the next longevity increment upon completion of the required hours for that longevity step.
Lateral Transfer. When a position becomes available, a permanent bargaining unit member serving in the same classification may apply for the position and shall be granted an interview.
Lateral Transfer. In cases of transfer within the same classification, within 10 workdays after assuming the position, the employee or the Employer may request to return the employee to his/her former position. If the former position does not exist, the employee may be placed in the next available vacancy in the same classification, at the Employer's discretion. Requests made after 10 workdays, up to 60 calendar days, will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Deputy Superintendent of Administrative Services. An employee who receives a lateral transfer may not apply for any subsequent vacancies for a period of 60 calendar days.
Lateral Transfer. P.8 A lateral transfer is the placement of an Employee, who is on Seniority List A holding a non-temporary assignment, who applies for a posted vacancy, subject to the Employee having the skills and ability to perform the duties of the assignment, into a position with the exact number or fewer hours of work, within the same job classification and Program from which the Employee is seeking transfer.
Lateral Transfer. An employee who has applied for and has received a lateral transfer to an equal level job shall not be eligible to apply to a subsequent job of an equal level for a period of twelve (12) months unless otherwise agreed by the Company.
Lateral Transfer. The probationary period for employees who are laterally transferred to a new job classification and/or the same job classification in a different school/department through a competitive process shall be six (6) months. The employee has thirty (30) calendar days, excluding winter and spring break shutdowns, to indicate in writing, to the former supervisor, the desire to return to the former position unless the position has been eliminated. An employee who is rejected during the probationary period shall be restored to his/her former position if it is vacant or held by a Contingent Category I employee.
Lateral Transfer. A Local 6070 Bargaining Unit Member accepting a lateral transfer will retain their current step and grade placement.
