Where an Operator is subject to a disciplinary suspension, the Operator will have the option to serve the suspension through a temporary reduction in pay. An Operator’s pay may be reduced up to 20% for sufficient time to result in a loss of pay equivalent to the pay that would have been lost during the suspension, had it been served, provided that in no event shall a reduction in pay have the effect of reducing an Operator’s pay below any rate required by law. The reduction in pay option shall apply to any number of days of suspension.
