Illness on Vacation. An employee who becomes ill while on vacation may request to have the period of illness applied against Wellness Days and/or Short Term Disability and their vacation entitlement restored. The employer may request medical documentation to support the request.
Illness on Vacation. Should an employee contract any illness or disability during his/her vacation that should require hospitalization of an employee, the period of sickness or disability may be charged as sick leave and the charge against vacation leave reduced accordingly. Documentation from a physician may be required.
Illness on Vacation. (a) Where an employee’s scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a serious illness requiring the employee to be an in-patient in a hospital, the period of such hospitalization shall be considered sick leave provided the employee provides a satisfactory documentation of the illness and hospitalization. The portion of the employee’s vacation which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provision will not be counted against the employee’s vacation credits.
Illness on Vacation. If an employee becomes ill while on vacation, the time of actual illness may be charged against accumulated sick leave subject to sick leave requirements.
Illness on Vacation. When an employee becomes ill while on vacation and such illness can be supported by a statement from an accredited physician or the employee is hospitalized for any period, the employee shall have the period of illness charged against sick leave and not against vacation leave.
Illness on Vacation. If a worker becomes ill during a scheduled vacation, he/she may convert vacation time to sick leave with pay, if entitled, provided that the worker notify the District no later than three (3) working days after the worker returns to work. The District may request a physician's verification of the illness.
Illness on Vacation. An employee who falls sick or is injured during vacation and can establish the validity of such sickness or accident to the satisfaction of the Employer, may make arrangements with the Home for a compensating vacation with pay and may receive accumulated sick leave credits for the time he was incapacitated during his vacation. The time of such compensating vacation will be arranged between the parties and will be taken during a period conducive to efficient operation of the Home.
Illness on Vacation. The Town may apply the following so long as it is not abused. In the event that an employee is or becomes ill prior to the employee's scheduled vacation or is admitted to a legally constituted hospital during the employee's scheduled vacation and it is determined that the illness or injury was in no way attributable to the employee's reckless or willful action while on vacation, the vacation time will not be charged and any remaining vacation will be rescheduled.
Illness on Vacation. If illness occurs on any day(s) when vacation time is used, and if the illness can be documented, the Employee may convert day(s) for illness to sick leave with pay and in so converting, shall receive full restoration of that time to the Employee's accrued earned vacation time. The conversion of time from vacation to sick leave shall not serve to alter or extend the scheduled calendar time of the vacation period unless such extension is mutually agreeable between the Employee, the Employee's direct supervisor, and the Assistant Director.
Illness on Vacation. Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to serious illness, which commenced prior to and continues into the scheduled vacation period, the period of such illness shall be considered sick leave. The employee must notify the Employer at the time the illness commences and prior to the scheduled vacation in order to claim sick leave under this Article. Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a serious illness requiring the employee to be an in-patient in a hospital; the period of such hospitalization shall be considered sick leave. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.
