Common use of Hostage Clause in Contracts

Hostage. The detention of an Insured Person by a third party who threatens to kill, injure or continue to detain an Insured Person in order to compel a state, international organisation or person to do or abstain from doing any act. Kidnap The seizing, detaining or carrying away by force or fraud of one or more Insured Persons (except a child by its parent or guardian) by a third party without the consent of an Insured Person and without lawful excuse.
