A. B. If a holiday falls on a Saturday but is observed on the preceding Friday by the Municipal and/or Superior Courts, employees who have been designated by the County as being necessary to the operation of said courts may be allowed to observe the Court observed Friday holiday in lieu of the Saturday, holiday provided such employees are given notice of their work schedule change not less than thirty (30) calendar days prior to the holiday.
C. When a holiday other than Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, the next day shall be observed as the holiday.
D. When New Year's Day falls on a Saturday, the Friday immediately preceding shall be observed as the holiday.
E. When Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, the next day (Monday) shall be observed as the holiday unless an employee is required to work on December 25 as part of his or her normal work schedule. In such cases, the employee may, with agency/department approval, observe the holi...

Holidays Observed. Full-Time Employees: Full-time employees on regular, 4/10, 9/80, flexible, and alternate work schedules are entitled to observe a holiday (eight (8) hours off), without a reduction in pay, whenever a holiday is observed by the County.
Holidays Observed. If a date-specific holiday listed in Section 8.7 falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be the County observed holiday. If a date-specific holiday listed in Section 8.7 falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be the County observed holiday. All other date-specific holidays shall be observed on the date specified in Section 8.7.
Holidays Observed. The legal holidays observed by the City and for which full-time non-seasonal employees are to be compensated shall be as follows:
(1) New Year's Day, January 1

(11) Employee's Birthday - If the employee's birthday falls on an above-named holiday, the employee shall be granted and compensated for one additional holiday. The Appointing Authority will allow the employee to take his/her birthday holiday within a year (365 days) from when the employee's birthday occurs, upon appropriate request by the employee, with approval of the Appointing Authority or designee. If the employee's birthday falls on February 29, the holiday for the purpose of this Section shall be considered as February 28 unless otherwise authorized by the Appointing Authority.

Holidays Observed. The approved holidays as listed below, normally include the Friday preceding any such holiday which falls on Saturday and the Monday following any such holiday which falls on Sunday, are holidays for the purpose of this Agreement except those employees who work on a seven-day continuous operation will be compensated for working on the calendar holiday. This neither means that every Saturday holiday will be observed on Friday or every Sunday holiday will be observed on Monday. The approved holidays are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day following Thanksgiving Day, the day preceding Christmas Day, Christmas Day, Two (2) University closure holidays assigned during the Christmas break; plus up to two (2) additional closure holidays assigned during the Christmas Break if the University is officially closed, and the day preceding New Year's Day. This provision does not guarantee a particular number of University closure holidays; closure holidays will be assigned as appropriate by the University. In the event the University recognizes an additional approved holiday, such holiday will be added to those holidays observed under section 12.1.1.
