Heritage. The entirety of the Park is on the National and State Heritage Lists and parts of the park are World Heritage listed. The park is subject to the provisions of the NSW Heritage Act 1977, Parramatta Park Trust Act 2001 and Regulation 2012. All works that break ground or have potential to disturb ground surfaces, historic assets or fabric must have specific approval by the NSW Heritage Council. Significant penalties exist for disturbance without approval.
