Such leaves shall be granted for a period of time not to exceed six months. Upon the request of the professional employee and at the discretion of the President, or designee, parental leave may be extended or renewed for a period not to exceed six months. In no case shall the total amount of leave exceed 12 months. Parental leave shall begin whenever the professional employee requests and may be used prior to the date of custody or placement when such is required for adoption or placement to proceed. No unpaid parental leave shall be granted beyond one year from the date of birth, of assuming custody of an adopted child, or of placement of a xxxxxx child.

A FACULTY MEMBER shall submit written notification to his/her Xxxx or immediate management supervisor and a copy to his/her department chairperson stating the anticipated duration of the parental leave, at least two (2) weeks in advance, if circumstances permit. Such leave shall be granted for a period of time not to exceed six (6) months. Upon the request of the FACULTY MEMBER and at the discretion of the President, parental leave may be extended or renewed for a period not to exceed six (6) months. In no case shall the total amount of parental leave exceed twelve (12) months. FACULTY MEMBERS may, at the discretion of the President, be granted parental leave on an intermittent or reduced time basis. In such cases, FACULTY MEMBERS who are absent for a partial day will be charged one-half (1/2) day of leave against the days of entitlement. Leave entitlement will be pro-rated for part-time FACULTY MEMBERS.

Granting Leave. The Employer will grant leave without pay (LWOP) in the following cases:
Granting Leave. Personal leave days may be used by no more than two (2) employees per building. However, no more than four (4) employees may use personal leave days within the District on any given day. Requests for personal leave days for any given day shall be granted according to the order in which such requests are received by their immediate supervisor.
Granting Leave. In the case of all requests for leave of absence, the Library shall have the sole discretion in granting leave. The Library reserves the right to require proof in support of the reasons given for the request for leave.
Granting Leave. The Speaker’s role is to ensure that there is no dissenting voice. When a request for leave is made, the Speaker asks all senators present if leave is granted. If even one senator is heard to object, leave is not granted and the Rules and normal practices must be observed. If no senator is heard to object, leave is granted. The Speaker may ask the question again if the result was not clear.
