Common use of Good governance Clause in Contracts

Good governance. The Parties agree that cooperation in this field shall actively support governments through actions aimed at, in particular: (a) respecting the rule of law; (b) guaranteeing the separation of powers; (c) guaranteeing an independent and efficient judicial system; (d) promoting transparent, accountable, efficient, stable and democratic institutions; (e) promoting policies to guarantee accountability and transparent management; (f) fighting against corruption; (g) reinforcing good and transparent governance at national, regional and local levels; (h) establishing and maintaining clear decision making procedures by public authorities at all levels; (i) supporting the participation of civil society.
