Generalist Clause Samples

The 'Generalist' clause defines the scope of responsibilities or services that are not limited to a specific specialty or area of expertise. In practice, this clause may state that a party is expected to perform a broad range of tasks or provide services across multiple domains, rather than being confined to a narrow field. This ensures flexibility in the agreement, allowing the party to address various needs as they arise and preventing disputes over whether a particular task falls within their remit.
Generalist. Librarian who has earned a minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution, with up to three (3) years’ of work experience as a Librarian or relevant experience as a paraprofessional or related experience in another profession.
Generalist. Elementary, except those listed in Paragraph 4 and 5 below, will be considered for retention in one (1) category (K-5 Elementary Education – includes Elementary Reading Specialists).
Generalist. Middle School (includes Language Arts, Socials Studies, and Reading), expect those listed in Paragraph 4 and 5 below, will be considered for retention in one (1) category (6-8). Separate categories will be established for Science and Mathematics teachers in grades 6-8.
Generalist. This program is designed to prepare candidates to teach in one of the following disciplines at the middle and adolescence levels (grades 5-12): American Studies, Biology, Chemical Education, English, French, History, Mathematics, Physics, or Spanish. In addition, candidates earn certification to teach students with disabilities in grades 7–12 as a Generalist. A Generalist is certified for employment as a supporting teacher for students with disabilities in content areas other than the candidate’s major area of study.
Generalist. The Generalist will be assigned to a Work Team. He/she will provide relief for all planned and unplanned absences and training. The Generalist is a fulltime position that is vacatable during day to day operations. The required number of Generalists will be maintained at levels to support the work system designs. It is expected that the number of Generalists identified in the current designs will be maintained. The current generalist levels are based on the best information available at the time of the designs. Should changes to an area or department’s ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ occur in the future due to things such as technological change or excessive overtime, the number of Generalists needed to support the team(s) will be adjusted accordingly.
Generalist a. Disabilities will be considered when making assignments and reasonable accommodations will be made accordingly. b. When a line shutdown occurs within a department, the in- dividuals on that line may be reassigned to another depart- ment. The following day the senior persons will return to the department if work is available in their classification. c. The senior Generalists reassigned under Section B above will become the Generalists in the department to which reas- signed. They do not displace assigned personnel. d. If a department is scheduled to be shut down for 1 day or longer, for any reason, the senior Generalists assigned to that department will be returned to the department the next work day. Replacements needed in the department for 1 day or less will come from the senior qualified excess personnel in that classification. e. If a line starts up after the beginning of a shift, the qualified available personnel will be utilized, not necessarily in order of seniority.
