Common use of General Retention Clause in Contracts

General Retention. It is agreed that the Board shall have and retain the full and exclusive right to hire, fire, assign, promote, demote, lay off, direct, discipline, transfer and determine the qualifications of employees. The Board has the complete and sole right to determine the extent and operations of the District and to make rules, determine the methods, standards and extent of work and to determine the content of jobs and to select and appoint supervisory personnel, and the Board shall further have and retain all other management rights and functions not specifically abridged by the provisions of this Agreement.
