Common use of Flex Hours Clause in Contracts

Flex Hours. The purpose of flex hours is to allow employees flexibility in managing their work life balance by offering the employees the opportunity to temporarily change their work schedule with prior approval to take care of personal business without requiring the use of paid time off, compensatory time, or holiday bank time. If an employee needs to be away from the district for a portion of a regular work day not to exceed 3 hours and they wish to make up the time in the same work week, they must coordinate with their immediate Superintendent or Manager to make arrangements for the use of flex hours at an approved time during the same work week. Use of flex hours will be approved or denied based on operational needs. Any make-up flex hours in excess of the normal work shift will be paid at straight time.‌
