Common use of Faculty Load Clause in Contracts

Faculty Load. ‌ A. Faculty are required to teach a total of thirty (30) contact hours during the fall and spring semesters combined. No faculty member shall be required to teach more than eighteen (18) contact hours in a semester. Librarians work thirty-five (35) hours per week or seventy (70) hours per two (2) weeks during the fall and spring semester. No faculty member shall be required to teach winter intersession. B. A faculty schedule in excess of thirty (30) contact hours in an academic year is considered an overload. Librarians working hours in excess of thirty-five (35) hours per week or seventy (70) hours per two (2) weeks is considered an overload. All overloads shall be compensated according to Section 12.8.
