Common use of Expected Short Shift Clause in Contracts

Expected Short Shift. Employees who commence to work on their regular assigned shifts at the regular starting time and are directed to cease work and are sent home on the instructions of the Employer shall be paid at the regular rate of pay up to and until their regular quitting time, provided the separation from work is not caused by their own misconduct, labour dispute, fire, flood or other cause beyond the control of the Employer.
