EFFECT OF MONETARY UNION. The provisions of this clause 9.13 apply in relation to any amount payable in the currency of a Participating Member State provided that, if and to the extent that any provision relates to any state (or the currency of such state) which was not a Participating Member State on 1 January 1999, such provision shall come into effect in relation to such state (and the currency of such state) on and with effect from the date on which such state becomes a Participating Member State.
