This edging encompasses the removal of all weeds, sand, vegetation, debris and plant material by the Contractor from the asphalt paved roadways edges. Edging encompasses the removal of growth mechanically and manually, and also includes the removal of all sand and debris from the areas requested to be edged. Areas specified for edging of asphalt paved roadway edges will not be treated with herbicide.

Edging of asphalt paved roadways. The Contractor may be asked to perform edging of asphalt paved roadway edges that do not have curb on an as-needed basis. Areas specified for edging of asphalt paved roadway edges will not be treated with herbicide. 4.6.1. Quantity and Frequency of Edging of Asphalt Paved Roadways - The edging of asphalt paved roadway edges that do not have curb will be performed on an as-needed basis as ordered by the County’s Representative for specific roadways. A map or list of the roadways will be provided and a written delivery order will be issued to the Contractor each time there is a need for asphalt paved roadway edging. The cost of the edging of asphalt paved roadway edges will be included in the “Edging of asphalt paved roadways (feet)” bid item. For bidding purposes only, six (6) cycles have been estimated for edging of specified asphalt paved roadways annually.
