Common use of Differential Rate Clause in Contracts

Differential Rate. a. An employee working an eight (8) hour shift commencing at twelve (12) noon or after shall receive a shift differential in the form of an assigned seven and one- half (7-1/2) hours for which he/she shall be paid for eight (8) hours at the differential rate of pay. Employees working this assignment shall receive a one- half hour paid lunch break and shall remain at the work site during that time.
