Deduction from Pay. Subject to the provisions of this article, the Employer will, as a condition of employment, deduct an amount equal to the membership dues from the pay of all employees in the bargaining unit commencing with the first complete month of employment. Where an employee does not have sufficient earnings in respect of any month to permit deductions made under this article, the Employer shall not be obligated to make such deduction from subsequent salary.

This article does not apply to any employee who establishes an entitlement to a religious exemption pursuant to the provisions of the Canada Labour Code.
Deduction from Pay. The Employer agrees to deduct the Association's monthly membership dues from the pay of those employees who individually request in writing that said deductions be made. The amounts to be deducted shall be certified by the Association to the Employer, and the aggregate deductions of all employees shall be remitted with an itemized statement to the Association by the last day of the succeeding month after such deductions are made.
