Countries involved. A total of six countries, in alphabetical order Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovak republic, and Slovenia were involved from the very beginning of the project in 2005 divided in 4 cross- border neighbour pairs in the model regions. Since 2006 three new countries have been involved in the capacity of tandem partners of the model regions established in the initial project’s phase – Ukraine, Croatia and Estonia (only collaboration partner without budget). Two further tandem partners were identified in the same countries such as the model partners (Poland and Slovak Republic). In that case those were regions situated along the eastern borders of the model partner countries (thus outer EC border) to Ukraine. The activities conducted were presented above, according to the tasks distribution in each work package (see P. 3). The dissemination of the results was described under WP3.
