Common use of Contractor Safety Representative Clause in Contracts

Contractor Safety Representative. In order to form an integrated team to effectively provide safe services to the Owner, the Contractor shall provide the name and contact information of Contractor’s designated Safety Representative. This individual will have the responsibility and authority to ensure the Contractor’s implementation, compliance with, and enforcement of, the Contractor’s Safety Program and all applicable federal, state and local safety and health standards, rules and regulations. Owner reserves the right to require the Contractor to replace its designated Safety Representative if Owner determines the individual is not qualified, is ineffective or is not fulfilling all applicable safety and health responsibilities. Contractor shall conduct bi-monthly Toolbox talks to supplement the OSHA training efforts of their company or organization, and to keep safety front and center in their workers' minds. These are designed to heighten employee awareness of workplace hazards and supplement, not replace, OSHA regulations. These shall be bi-lingual if necessary.
