Contract Status. A. Probationary Employee 1. Probationary employment shall be in accordance with Florida Statutes. 2. Pursuant to Chapter 1012.335, Florida Statutes, Instructional Personnel newly hired to the district shall be awarded a probationary contract for a period of one (1) school year. A probationary contract may not be awarded more than once to the same employee unless the employee was rehired after a break in service for which an authorized leave of absence was not granted. A probationary contract shall be awarded regardless of previous employment in another school district or state. 3. It is expressly understood and agreed that neither the probationary contract teacher nor the School Board owes any further contractual obligation to each other after the termination date specified in the individual teacher’s contract regardless of the effectiveness or quality of a teacher’s performance.
