Compressor Requirements. Each compressor shall be a screw type, capable of delivering the Binary Plant compressed air requirements for normal operation, start-up, shut-down and all other services. This shall be done without unloading/loading more than six times per hour. Each compressor shall have a duty cycle not exceeding 33%. The compressors shall be of the load/unload type where the motors run continuously. Compressors which require a motor shutdown during periods of zero or light load will not be accepted.
Compressor Requirements. The compressor/receiver unit shall be equipped with manufacturer supplied safety relief and shut-off valves. The compressor and motor shall be mounted on vibration isolators with a design transmissibility of 20% or less, and shall be furnished with an inlet air filter, load-less starting and pressure switch for automatic operation. The compressor discharge line shall be flexibly connected to the air supply system. The compressor shall be started automatically by a low-pressure sensor switch, and the supply line from the receiver shall have a pressure gauge with a pressure regulator. Local Start/Stop controls and run-indicating lights shall be provided at the air compressor.
