Common use of Compliance with Controlling Law Clause in Contracts

The Design Professional shall comply with all laws, ordinances, regulations, and policies of the federal, state, and local governments applicable to this Agreement, including California Labor Code section 1720 relating to the payment of prevailing wages during the design and preconstruction phases of a project, including inspection and land surveying work. In addition, the Design Professional shall comply immediately with all directives issued by the City or its authorized representatives under authority of any laws, statutes, ordinances, rules, or regulations. The laws of the State of California shall govern and control the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
