Common use of Committee Clause in Contracts

Committee. (a) There shall be a committee to address the planning of professional development initiatives for nurses as described in Article 9.01. This committee shall include representatives of the Hospital, one of whom shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate and another, a Human Resources representative; and of the Association, one of whom shall be the Bargaining Unit President or designate. The number of representatives is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. The membership of the Committee may be adjusted by mutual agreement, but at least fifty (50%) percent will be elected by the Association membership. The parties may agree to incorporate other disciplines into the Committee. Through the Chief Nursing Officer, provide recommendations with respect to professional development initiatives in the development of the Hospital Operating Plan; ii) Reviewing the demographics of the nursing complement; iii) Developing guidelines for the development, implementation and evaluation of professional development initiatives; iv) Developing means to promote equal access to professional development opportunities including, but not limited to programs (such as conferences, seminars and workshops), funding, scheduling, leaves, mentoring roles and preceptorship; v) Reviewing and making recommendations regarding professional development initiatives, including but not limited to mentorship and internship; vi) Reviewing and making recommendations regarding the existing nursing continuing education programs; and on the use of technology to enhance access; vii) Developing and implementing an ongoing communication plan to advise nurses about the work of this committee.

The Hospital agrees University's Hospitality Services: (i) matters of mutual concern relative to pay for time spent during regular working hours for representatives the interpretation or application of this Agreement, (ii) the renewal or re-negotiation of this Agreement. 8.02 Employees shall not be eligible to serve as members of the Association attending such meetingsCommittee until they have been continuously employed for a period of not less than one (1) year. 8.03 Notwithstanding clause 7.01 above, the University will recognize up to five (5) employee representatives (no more than two (2) from any operational unit of the Hospitality Services) for the purpose of grievance administration. 8.04 An employee who is a member of the Association Committee or who is an employee representative has his/her regular duties to perform and will provide replacement staff where needed for such absences. not absent her/himself from his/her duties without the consent of his/her immediate supervisor which will not be unreasonably withheld. 8.05 Where a nurse is required to attend such grievance must be serviced or where meetings outside of her or his regularly between Association and University officials take place during an employee's scheduled working hours, the nurse s/he shall be paid for all time spent in attendance at such meetings at either his/her or his regular straight time basic hourly rate as though working. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Agreement, the University shall be obligated to pay only the basic hourly rate to an employee replacing one (1) so acting for the Association. 8.06 The Association shall keep the University informed in writing of the names and positions of its executive and Association Committee, and of the names and areas of responsibility of its employee representatives. The effective date of appointment shall be included in such notification. 8.07 The University will grant up to a total of twenty-five (25) days per contract year, leave of absence with pay for Food Service Employee Association Executive members or elect his/her designate, to receive lieu time offattend educational courses, conferences, conventions and seminars, and to attend to University related Association duties. Committee. (a) There Each Department, Unit and non-departmental Faculty shall elect by April of each year a standing Renewal, appointments and Promotion Committee. The Library and Archives shall elect by April of each year a standing Renewal, appointments and Promotion Committee. The Committee shall elect its own chair.
