Common use of Committee Clause in Contracts

Committee. (a) There shall be a committee to address the planning of professional development initiatives for nurses as described in Article 9.01. This committee shall include representatives of the Hospital, one of whom shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate and another, a Human Resources representative; and of the Association, one of whom shall be the Bargaining Unit President or designate. The number of representatives is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. The membership of the Committee may be adjusted by mutual agreement, but at least fifty (50%) percent will be elected by the Association membership. (d) The purpose of the committee is to assist the Hospital in promoting a practice environment that supports continuous learning and enhances opportunities for career development through: i) Reviewing annually the organization’s strategic directions and priorities which impact on nursing competencies including the budget and expenditures related to nursing education. Through the Chief Nursing Officer, provide recommendations with respect to professional development initiatives in the development of the Hospital Operating Plan; ii) Reviewing the demographics of the nursing complement; iii) Developing guidelines for the development, implementation and evaluation of professional development initiatives; iv) Developing means to promote equal access to professional development opportunities including, but not limited to programs (such as conferences, seminars and workshops), funding, scheduling, leaves, mentoring roles and preceptorship; v) Reviewing and making recommendations regarding professional development initiatives, including but not limited to mentorship and internship; vi) Reviewing and making recommendations regarding the existing nursing continuing education programs; and on the use of technology to enhance access; vii) Developing and implementing an ongoing communication plan to advise nurses about the work of this committee.

Committee. ‌ 8.01 The University will recognize up to six (6) Association representatives selected by the Association from amongst members of the Bargaining Unit as an Association Committee for the purpose of discussing with University management provided, however, up to four (4) of such representatives will be employees of the University’s Hospitality Services: (a) There matters of mutual concern relative to the interpretation or application of this Agreement; (b) the renewal or re-negotiation of this Agreement. 8.02 Employees shall not be a committee eligible to address the planning of professional development initiatives for nurses serve as described in Article 9.01. Committee. This Committee is established to provide a Labor Management forum to discuss issues of a systemwide nature that affect Customer Field Service employees. The Committee will consist of seven members from the Union appointed by the Union's Business Manager and seven members appointed by the Company. The Union's Business Manager will appoint a co-chair for the Union and Company's Senior Vice President and General Manager of the CES Business Unit will appoint the Company Co-Chair. The secretary of the committee will be appointed by the Manager of Industrial Relations. The Committee should be scheduled to meet on a quarterly basis or as needed by agreement between the parties. The secretary of the committee will be responsible for agendas, notification and meeting arrangements. The secretary of the committee will be responsible for the writing and distribution of the resume. The resume will include all discussions of the committee. Prior to distribution the resumes will be approved by the Co-Chairs. Resumes will be given wide distribution for posting throughout CES, including distribution to all CES 94-53 Committees and Local Title 8 Committees. Subcommittees can be of any size but should have an equal number of management and bargaining unit employees. The Committee appoints members to the subcommittees.
