Classroom Exclusions. Student exclusion from the classroom will be commensurate with RCW 28A.600.020. Parent/guardians of students who have been excluded from the classroom will be notified as soon as reasonably possible by the classroom teacher unless, discipline is issued by the Building Principal.
Classroom Exclusions. 41.7.1 Except in emergency circumstances, the teacher first must attempt one or more alternative forms of corrective action. 41.7.2 Following a classroom exclusion in which the assistance of an administrator is requested, in no event without the consent of the employee may an excluded student return to the class during the balance of that class or activity period or up to the following two days, or until the administrator or designee and the employee have conferred. The administrator or designee and the employee will confer in order to debrief the situation, consider appropriate supports to assist the student in meeting behavioral expectations, and agree upon a plan to notify the student's parents regarding the classroom exclusion as soon as reasonably possible. The administrator or designee and the employee will confer when the employee is not supervising students, which might be before or after school, during a prep period or while another staff member provides class coverage. 41.7.3 In addition to classroom exclusions, the administrator and employee will agree upon a plan to notify the parents of the student principally involved anytime a class is removed from the classroom leaving a student behind. Exclusion does not include students with interventions previously determined or comprehensive behavior plans.
Classroom Exclusions. Classroom exclusions shall mean the exclusion of a student from a classroom or an activity for behavioral violations, subject to WAC ▇▇▇-▇▇▇-▇▇▇ and ▇▇▇- ▇▇▇-▇▇▇, which is not greater than five (5) minutes so long as the teacher or school personnel has attempted another form of discipline and the student remains under the supervision of school personnel. a. Teacher authority. In accordance with RCW 28A.600.020(2), a teacher may exclude a student from the teacher's classroom or instructional or activity area for behavioral violations of the District’s student discipline policy which cause the disruption of the educational process while the student is under the teacher's immediate supervision, subject to the requirements identified in the following subsections of this section.
