Classification Adjustment. 30.01 When the Employer establishes a new classification during the term of this Agreement, the Employer shall establish the rate of pay for the new classification. 30.02 Where the Union disagrees with the rate of pay established by the Employer for the new classification, it may file a grievance pursuant to the grievance procedure established in this Collective Agreement. Failing resolution during the grievance procedure, the dispute may be referred to arbitration for final determination. The Sole Arbitrator hearing the dispute shall select either the rate established by the Employer or that proposed by the Union, and shall make the selection on the basis of the community of interest shared by employees in the new classification with other employees in the bargaining unit.
