Classification Adjustment. (a) An Employee whose position is reclassified to one with a higher Basic Rate of Pay shall be advanced to the next step on the salary schedule that would provide, at a minimum an increase to their Basic Rate of Pay. (b) An Employee whose position is reclassified to one with a lower Basic Rate of Pay shall not have his Basic Rate of Pay altered from the Basic Rate of Pay he was earning on the date his position was reclassified for a period of six (6) months, or until the Basic Rate of Pay for the lower paid classification is equal to or greater than his previous Basic Rate of Pay, whichever is earlier.
