Progression from Step 1 to Step 2 of the Lead Hand wage scale shall occur following satisfactory performance and the completion of twelve (12) months consecutive service or 2080 hours (260 payroll days) worked as a Lead Hand. 3. Notwithstanding (2), the principle to be followed when determining the level of pay for acting Lead Hand is that they will be paid a rate which is higher than the highest paid classification supervised.

Effective January 1, 2009: Labourers and Park Attendants will advance from Step 2 to Step 3 of their pay scale once they have completed an additional 2080 hours (twelve months full-time equivalent) of service subject to satisfactory performance and successful completion of specified courses. Current Park Attendant and Labourer Employees will have their hours calculated to determine the appropriate step placement that will come into effect January 1, 2009. Temporary Employees will have their hours calculated based on time worked between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2008. No Employee will suffer a reduction in pay as a result of this agreement. 2.
