City Contribution to PERS. The City shall pay directly to PERS ninety-seven ($97) per month as a contribution toward the PEMHCA plan medical insurance premium for each active represented employee and retiree who elects to enroll in a PEMHCA medical plan. As required by Government Code Section 22892, commencing January 1, 2009, the City’s contribution shall be adjusted annually by PERS to reflect any change in the medical care component of the Consumer Price Index and shall be rounded to the nearest dollar. These increased City contribution rates shall remain in effect only as long as required by law.
