Parent involvement and supervision are necessary as your child uses a chromebook to enhance his or her learning.
Chromebook Program. 2.1 Issuing the Chromebook The Chromebooks on loan are the property of Westborough Public Schools (WPS). Your right of possession and use is limited to and conditioned upon your full and complete compliance with this agreement, the Student Handbook, the current Technology Plan, and the Responsible Use Policy. Failure to comply with any part of this policy may result in the student losing the privilege of bringing the Chromebook home for a period of time or other appropriate disciplinary measures.
Chromebook Program. An HP 360x G2 EE Chromebook is being offered to your child to improve and personalize his/her education this school year. It is essential that the Louisville Public Schools Technology Acceptable Use Agreement be followed to ensure the safe, efficient, and ethical operation of the districtʼs device. In order for your child to use the chromebook in class and to take it home, you must be willing to accept the responsibilities and terms outlined within this document. There is no fee to use the district-issued chromebook. However, there will be a fee for damages or replacement. In the case of theft or accidental breakage in the course of normal, educational use, the administration of Louisville Public Schools may elect to waive the repair or replacement fee. Students in grades 5-12 will be allowed to take their devices home. Devices for students in grades K-4 will remain at school unless the teacher or administration deems differently. *Note: Chromebook Carrying Cases are recommended (Walmart, Amazon, etc) but will not be provided. Chromebooks can be carried in backpacks, however, damages are more likely to occur if the chromebook is left loose. **NEW THIS YEAR: Optional device insurance will be available through the School Device Coverage company. Chromebook Program. All Xxxxxxx Catholic High School students (9-12) will be issued a Chromebook. Each student will utilize the Chromebook to support the educational objectives and mission of the school. Students will be required to bring their Chromebook to school each day. The primary use of these devices on campus is for academic purposes. This does not include the use of cell phones; the cell phone policy is listed in the Parent-Student Handbook. Teachers will use OnCampus ( xxxxx://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx/) as the central repository to post information on assignments, grades and other resources being used in their classrooms. Teachers will also post their classroom expectations regarding technology. Students are expected to model core Catholic Christian values and exercise good judgment in their utilization of Chromebooks and all forms of technology. As part of this initiative: • Unauthorized use of the audio or camera recording function is strictly prohibited. This includes video recording, photographing, or audio recording anyone without their permission and/or sharing unauthorized videos, audio recordings or photographs. If a teacher gives permission to use these functions, students should not modify the recording or post it online without receiving explicit permission from the teacher. • Students are reminded that the use of personal electronic devices on campus is for academic purposes only. Any non-academic use is subject to disciplinary action. • Additional personal devices, with the exception of cell phones, are prohibited. • Personal cell phones, may be used as needed for academic purposes only. • Xxxxxxx Catholic is not responsible for providing network connectivity for personal cell phones, even when used for academic purposes. • Students should keep their Chromebooks in their sight at all times and should never leave them unattended. • Students are required to connect their Chromebook to the school’s wireless network for access to network resources including the Internet. Chromebooks have been pre-configured to attach to the appropriate student wireless network. If the device needs to be reconnected, students must follow guidelines and instructions from the IT Department for reconnecting their devices. • The use of separate 3G, 4G or any other connectivity to the Internet is prohibited on campus. Chromebook Program. St Xxxx of the Cross Catholic Primary School will provide every student in years 3-6 with their own Chromebook, which will be used only at school. Chromebooks are not to be removed from school. Students will be responsible for the care of their Chromebook. If a Chromebook is damaged due to lack of care by the student, the student (family) will be responsible for the costs of repair. It is the responsibility of each student to ensure their Chromebook is fully charged and ready for the day’s learning.
