Cancellation Policy. To cancel your participation after you have paid the study away deposit, notify the Xxxxxx Center for Study Away and International Education by email (xxxxx.xxxx@xxxxxx.xxx). The $500 study away deposit is non- refundable and non-transferrable. Students cancelling or withdrawing after February 1, 2023 are liable for partial or full payment for the Total Program Cost in accordance with the following schedule: On or before February 1, 2023: the $500 deposit is non-refundable February 2 – March 10: 50% of the Total Program Cost is non-refundable March 11 – April 8: 75% of the Total Program Cost is non-refundable April 9 – May 10 or thereafter: 100% of the Total Program Cost is non-refundable If Xxxxxx University cancels the Program, Student will receive a refund for all MayX program amounts already paid, including the $500 study away deposit. If Student is dismissed from the Program for misconduct, including but not limited to, violation of Furman Student Conduct Code, host institution conduct code, host country laws, and/or alcohol/drug abuse, Student will be responsible for the Total Program Cost in accordance with the schedule set forth above. If Student does not receive Student’s passport or other required and/or necessary travel documents in time to participate in the Program, Student is responsible for the Total Program Cost in accordance with the schedule set forth above. The Xxxxxx Center for Study Away will use reasonable efforts to help students understand the process for securing the required and/or necessary travel documents, but cannot guarantee a student will receive the travel documents before the start of the Program as obtaining such travel documents is the responsibility of students. Furman reserves the right in its sole discretion to (1) to change the itinerary of the Program and Student agrees to accept such changes or (2) to cancel the Program, in which case Student will receive a full refund for any portions of the Total Program Cost actually paid, including the deposit, as of the date of such cancellation. COVID-19: If Student tests positive for COVID-19, and such positive test prevents Student from fully participating in the Program or partially participating in any portion of the Program, Xxxxxx University will not issue a refund for any inability to participate and/or for missed days due to quarantine or isolation. Student is responsible and liable for any and all additional costs associated with testing positive for COVID-19 including, but not limited to, quarantine housing, medical care, meal delivery, flight change fees, and PCR or antigen tests. Student acknowledges and agrees that a positive COVID-19 test result could result in Student not being allowed to start the Program on time, missing all or part of the Program, or needing to delay Student’s return flight. Students who need medical assistance will pay for services upfront and may request a reimbursement through the EIIA claims process. The policy statement summary, insurance card, and the instructions for submitting a claim can be found online at xxxx://xxx.xxxx.xxx/international-travel/. The foregoing Coverage may extend to certain associated costs incurred by individuals who test positive for COVID while traveling. However, Xxxxxxx agrees and acknowledges that Xxxxxx University makes no representations about the Coverage. Student further acknowledges that Xxxxxx University is not an agent or representative of EIIA and has no control and/or influence over EIIA’s processing of any claim Student may make under such Coverage. Trip cancellation and interruption insurance are NOT included in the Total Program Cost, and are not offered to participants by Xxxxxx University. These types of insurance may help families recover travel expenses if an emergency prevents the student from traveling.
