Buy American. The Xxxxxx X. Xxxxxxxx Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act of 1998, as may be amended, requires sponsors of the National School Lunch Program to buy domestic commodities or products for use in meals to the maximum extent possible. Specification of product origin, based on the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990, as may be amended, mandates that the country of origin for both domestic and imported food products be identified on the product label. Products bid MUST comply with the foregoing regulations and all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
