Common use of Broken Shift Allowance Clause in Contracts

Broken Shift Allowance. AT A GLANCE 8.9.19.1 For the purposes of this Agreement, an employee shall be deemed to have worked a broken shift if the employee is required to work two separate shifts in a day, where the unpaid break in between such periods is greater than one hour OR required to work a rostered shift in two parts, where the unpaid break in between such periods is greater than one hour. 8.9.19.2 An employee deemed to have worked a broken shift will be paid a broken shift allowance at the rates set out in the Allowance Table of this Agreement for each day the employee works a broken shift.
