Common use of Breaks in Continuous Service Clause in Contracts

Breaks in Continuous Service. An employee's seniority record shall be broken by voluntary resignation, discharge, and retirement. Employees on extended leaves of absence shall have their seniority frozen at the level obtained at the time the leave was granted. An employee who is absent from work for two (2) consecutive days without notification of valid reason to the Employer shall be considered having voluntarily resigned.
