Bolt Holes Clause Samples
The 'Bolt Holes' clause defines the requirements and specifications for the placement, size, and quality of bolt holes in construction or manufacturing projects. It typically outlines standards for drilling or punching holes to ensure proper alignment and fit for bolts, and may specify tolerances, spacing, and finishing requirements. By setting clear expectations for bolt hole preparation, this clause helps prevent assembly issues, ensures structural integrity, and reduces the risk of misalignment or rework during installation.
Bolt Holes. New rail bolt holes shall be drilled only with a rail drill. No other method is permissible. Rail shall be drilled before joint bars are applied. Drilling shall be performed by either, center punching hole location and drilling or by using a proper template. Holes are to be of the size prescribed for rail section and joint bar type.
Bolt Holes. Bolt holes shall be accurately located, smooth, perpendicular to the member and cylindrical. Number of bolts shall be as shown on the drawings. Bolt spacing shall meet the minimum tolerances specified AISC's Manual of Steel Construction.
