Authorized Uses. Licensee and Authorized Users may make all use of the Licensed Materials as is consistent with the Fair Use Provisions of United States and international law. Nothing in this Agreement is intended to limit in any way whatsoever Licensee's or any Authorized User's rights under the Fair Use provisions of United States or international law to use the Licensed Materials. The Licensed Materials may be used for purposes of research, education or other non-commercial use as follows:
Authorized Uses. The Participating Institutions and the Authorized Users may make all use of the Licensed Materials as is consistent with the applicable law and with this Agreement, including but not limited to the following licensing conditions ("Authorized Uses"). The Subscriber may: • print and deliver book chapters from the ScienceDirect Subscribed Products to fulfill requests as part of the practice commonly known as "interlibrary loan" from non­commercial libraries located within the samé country as the Subscriber. The Subscriber: • (i) may extract and index Data (as defined below) from the articles authored by Authorized Users included in the Subscribed Products, to index in the user interface of the Subscriber's product by implementing both the SD Search API and the SD Article Entitlement AP I (see xxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx/sd apis.html), and store in perpetuity in the Subscriber's secure database systém that the Subscriber uses to collect, preserve and disseminate information about the intellectual output of the Subscriber's institute(s) ("Institutional Repository") and to publically display Snippets (as defined below), provi...
Authorized Uses. Licensee and its Authorized Users may access and use the Licensed Products only for scholarly and research purposes and only as follows: (1) access, search, browse and view the Licensed Products; (2) download and print individual Articles and make a reasonable number of photocopies of a printed Article; (3) print a reasonable number of pages from an eBook and make a reasonable number of photocopies of those printed pages; (4) forward links to individual Articles and eBooks to Authorized Users; (5) post up to twenty-five (25) Articles or eBooks per semester, per course in PDF or HTML format for the purposes of electronic course reserves on Licensee’s internal, secured computer network accessible only to Authorized Users; and (6) as part of the practice commonly known as “interlibrary loan,” deliver a reasonable number of copies of Articles (including through use of Ariel or a substantially similar interlibrary loan transmission software) to fulfill requests from non-commercial, academic libraries provided, however, that such practice: (i) complies with Section 108 of the U.S. Copyright Act and the guidelines developed by the National Commission on New Technological Uses of Copyrighted Works (CONTU Guidelines); (ii) does not result in systematic reproduction of the Licensed Products, any journal or issue of a journal, any Article, or any portion of the foregoing; and (iii) must not be used for any IEEE Standards.
Authorized Uses. Each Authorized User may:  access, search, browse and view the Subscribed Products;  print, download and store a reasonable portion of individual items from the Subscribed Products for the exclusive use of such Authorized User; and  incorporate links to the Subscribed Products on the Subscriber’s intranet and internet websites and in electronic coursepacks, reserves and course management systems and instructor websites, provided that the appearance of such links and/or statements accompanying such links will be changed as reasonably requested by Elsevier;  provide print and electronic copies of individual items from the Subscribed Products to other Authorized Users and to third-party colleagues for their scholarly and research use.
Authorized Uses. Sick Leave shall not be considered a privilege to be used at an EMPLOYEE'S discretion, but shall be allowed only in case of necessity and actual sickness and disability of the EMPLOYEE or because of serious illness in the EMPLOYEE'S immediate family or to meet dental appointments, to take physical examinations or other essential preventive medical measures. All medical appointments shall be scheduled during non-work hours to the extent possible. In the event that a medical appointment must be scheduled during an employee’s work shift, a minimum of two weeks notice for scheduled medical appointments shall be required with the exception of verifiable emergencies. When sick leave is used due to illness in the immediate family, use of such leave shall not exceed three (3) work periods at any one time.
Authorized Uses. Confidential Information shall be used by the Consultant only for purposes authorized in writing by Tornier, shall be treated by the Consultant as confidential proprietary information of Tornier, and shall not be reproduced or disclosed or made available to others without prior written permission of Tornier except to those that have a specific need to know. The Consultant shall take at least those measures that Consultant takes to protect its own highly confidential information. The Consultant shall reproduce Tornier’s proprietary rights notices on any such approved copies, in the same manner in which such notices were set forth in or on the original. The authorized uses of Confidential Information are limited to (a) performing the consulting services described in the Addendum; (b) supplying Tornier with goods or services; or (c) any other purpose Tornier may hereafter authorize in writing. Consultant will immediately notify Tornier of receipt by Consultant or any of his agents of any process, subpoena, demand, or request by any third party, requiring or requesting the production of Confidential Information.
